Clarice Bean

All Clarice Bean wants is a bit of peace and quiet. But that can be hard to find in a house where your little brother is being utterly annoying, your big brother is in the dark tunnel of adolescence and your grandad's pouring soup on his cornflakes.... 

Mum and Dad are going away on Important Business, so Uncle Ted comes to stay. Before long there's a guinea pig on the loose, Grandad's gone missing and her little brother is stuck in the railings like a giant squeaking tomato! Luckily Uncle Ted's around. He'll come to the rescue...won't he?  

Clarice Bean is learning about the environment at school. She needs to come up with a Big Project about Saving the Planet. ASAP. But when she discovers that the tree on their street is about to be chopped to pieces, she soon realises that it's the little things that can make a big difference. Enter, Clarice Bean, Eco-Warrior!

Clarice Bean usually looks forward to Christmas. Except this year, it is going to be a quiet-ish Christmas in her house, which doesn’t feel right because Christmas is all about noisiness and being full up and family. And without those things, she is going to have to try exceptionordinarily hard to stop the Christmas spirit completely floating away.... But luckily, there is no one in the world like Clarice Bean - and she is going to think like an elf, and that means everything will be A-okay. Won’t it?

The utterly wonderful Clarice Bean is thinking about the endangered things: the big creatures, the little creatures, the plants and the trees. But it’s not just the planet that needs help – there’s her whole family too.
