Stunning
The story is absolutely incredible. The way it pictures the characters and their nuances is so close to reality. You end the book loving the people in the book for their flaws as much as their qualities.
Heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. The performances are amazing, and even though I didn't read the written copy, I suspect audiobook is the best way to enjoy this story.
And what an enjoyment it is!

Interesting but not incredible
I decided to listen the audiobook because I was struggling to get involved by the book when I was reading, so the audiobook brought that glam and immersion that was missing. The story is nice, good to read to pass your time, but after a while it follows all the same pattern. Evelyn is an interesting character, but nothing too original, however it’s easy to get eager to know more about her story. In the other hand, Monique is a hitting boring, it lacks of charisma and when the book focus on her life it gets boring. But for an audiobook it works well and the voice actors do a great job!

Great book
Already loved Robin Miles from the broken earth series. This book was very interestingly so close to home to me… loved listening to it.

Très réaliste et bien écrit
Le livre m’a vraiment transporté dans la vie d’Evelyne. Il donne envie de découvrir cette femme l’a rendant presque réelle.
Overall good story après j’ai connu mieux mais j’ai apprécié. C’est dommage que je ne puisse ps me plonger dans ces films après avoir terminé ce livre😔

Very well-written
Very interesting story and well told. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Evelyn’s character is complex, and it feels like you’re pulling back layers as you progress through the story.
