Résumé de l'éditeur

You can't just "get over" anxiety. In fact, the very things most people do to try to feel better - avoiding feared situations, pushing worry out of mind - only make the problem worse. Leading psychologists Susan M. Orsillo and Lizabeth Roemer present a powerful new alternative that can help you break free of anxiety by fundamentally changing how you relate to it. With clarity and compassion, this book describes clinically tested mindfulness practices specifically tailored for anxiety in its many forms. Learn step-by-step strategies for gaining awareness of anxious feelings without letting them escalate, loosening the grip of worry and fear, and achieving a new level of emotional and physical well-being.

Very interesting journey that continues after you finish the book

This is a very ambitious book that seeks to change lives. It may change my life but it is a very demanding book -- really tries to teach a person new habits. There are many exercises, such as diary-keeping, worth it tho cos I did find some insights this way. This kind of change does not happen overnight, but the book is also quite motivational. The tone of the book maybe a bit academic for some listeners, but I find that evidence base reassuring, and more persuasive than a fluffy, 'spiritual' type of approach. I would recommend this book to a certain type of reader... I have also bought two additional copies as gifts to friends and family.
